Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'
Multnomah County, Oregan (which includes Portland) said they would, and now they've done it. The County Clerk has begun issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Meanwhile, NY Attorney General Eliot Spitzer has announced his statement that issuing such licenses in NY is illegal. He also expressed that he thinks the law should be changed, and will leave it up to the courts to determine the constitutionality of the law.
Spitzer's statement doesn't seem to be weakening the resolve of the mayors and officials of New Paltz, Ithaca and Nyack, however.
