The Next Cool Thing
Hammacher Schlemmer has a portable DVD player that is just the coolest. At $150 (okay, $149.95), the price is a lot lower that portable DVD players were just a year or two ago. You can play and watch DVDs on it (along with CDs), or you can hook it up to a TV and it will act like a regular DVD player (includes cables). They claim a fully charged battery will last 2.5 hours, long enough for one in-flight movie (as long as you don't pick any of the Lord of the Rings films or other long-running flicks). It also comes with an AC adapter and a car power adapter.
The Girl and I have more than once taken a full sized DVD player with us on vacation. That's the kind of movie fans we are. This one would be a heckuva lot easier to pack. It's a good thing I'm cash poor right now - this has impulse purchase written all over it.
