Smooth Operator, Redux
This morning I had a "kickoff" call with my new installation client (the nonlegal, and at this point primary, part of my job). On the phone is one person in Michigan and four in Sioux City, Iowa. In the room with me are the sales rep and the programming manager. So I'm going along through the agenda, whipping through stuff, getting it done, answering questions, on top of my game, you know? Then I cross my legs under the table, left ankle on right knee, and rest my hand on my ankle. What's that lump?
From the leg of the jeans I washed and dried yesterday, I extract the missing argyle sock whose match is sitting atop the dryer. Nice.
At least it was just a sock, and at least the client was on the phone rather than in the room.
